Where Clinical Vision Meets Trustworthy AI
The Clinical Vision and AI Lab (C-VAIL) at Northern Arizona University builds computer vision and deep learning systems for medicine’s hardest problems — from detecting disease in medical images to predicting patient outcomes. Building on a foundation of NASA- and NSF-funded research published at MICCAI, ICCV, and in Nature-portfolio journals, our mission is to make AI a trusted partner in healthcare, not a black box: we design models that are not just accurate, but accountable, so that when a clinician makes a life-or-death decision, they can trust the AI standing beside them.
